Portfolio
Below are but a few examples of projects designed by us over the years.
Retirement New Home
A very wide, very shallow city lot presented unique challenges for creating this urban retirement house. Privacy from the street, low maintenance materials, limited natural light, and an adjoining wooded public park were important characteristics to be considered. The interior features an efficient open plan, many custom built-ins, cathedral ceiling variations, special trim and molding details, a craftsman-style look, and features desirable with senior living.
Remodel/Exterior Makeover
Client was desirous of a completely new Craftsman Style Exterior with low maintenance materials for this tired "Tudor" home. The Owner was heavily involved in the work along with some very talented contractors.
New Home
Built several years prior to retirement, this house sits on the West arm of Grand Traverse Bay on a beautifully wooded beachfront parcel in a secluded area. Initially used as a seasonal home by the family but now their main residence year around.
Lakefront Retirement Home
A very narrow lot on Long Lake is the setting for this retirement home. Contemporary styling, low maintenance, and great views of the lake were this owner's desires. This particular design achieved lake views from no less than seven areas of the house.
Family House
A more traditional design on several acres at the base of Old Mission Peninsula with bay views to the West. Planned with many features for a younger, active family with two boys which included built-in sports lockers and a compatible outbuilding with play areas. Spectacular landscaping has matured into natural park-like setting.
New Family House
Tucked on a very wooded lot at the base of Old Mission Peninsula, this modified "Cottage-Style" home of approximately 3,500 square feet features very custom interior detailing, real cobblestone veneers, an in-ground pool, and a special owner requested handicapped-accessible tree house.
Remodel and Addition
Originally designed in 1978, this very private Old Mission Peninsula home received a major makeover for its new owners in 2002. A large Master Suite, In-Law Suite, three-car Garage addition, complete new exterior treatment, almost total interior renovation, and an entire update for the Indoor Pool that included the installation of a state of the art temperature and humidity controlled heating system.
Remodel and Additions
A stately Dutch Colonial in need of renovation and more space in an Ann Arbor historic neighborhood. The plan included a new two-story rear yard addition, new 3 car garage to match the house style, and interior freshening. Robert worked as consultant with knowledgeable "hands-on" clients throughout the work. Due to conditions dictated by the site, the old attached Garage addition from years ago was turned into a "Drive-Thru" Garage to allow access to new Garage at the rear of the house.
Remodel and Addition
A rural Midland County setting for this older ranch-style home was perfect for the client but their tastes and lifestyle desired a more formal touch. The existing dark brown brick was painted and a large addition including a new Master Suite, a new Family Entertaining Room, and an inviting and practical covered Entry Porch were incorporated. The existing interior was completely redone to be compatible with the major transformations. White walls throughout were a perfect background for their extensive European art collection.
New Family Retreat
Robert Siegle Design was the Project Designer for this unique Private Retreat on Spider Lake near Traverse City. This was the second residential retreat created for the same client. It is a privately owned structure that may be rented for family vacations, reunions, corporate group holidays, etc. Guests can enjoy 16 double queen rooms with private Baths, common Dining/Kitchen area for up to 64 guests, Recreation and Exercise Areas, Reading Library with fireplace, Media Entertainment Room, and covered private balcony areas. Extraordinary care was taken in locating the structure to preserve the existing trees and natural beauty of the site. Project was completed in 2004.
